In the times of self-quarantine, set goals – stay fit- smash your 10 min workout– clap for yourself- work from home AND repeat!

The coronavirus outbreak has triggered an anxious trial run for remote work at a grand scale. What we learn in the next few months could help shape a future of work that might have been inevitable, with or without a once-in-a-century public-health crisis. Lethargy and weight gain can set in faster than you think. Plus, now that you’re not commuting, you’ve got extra time to do all the things that build up.

But working from home can present a unique set of challenges, especially when it comes to your health. The abundance of alluring snacks in the kitchen, the lack of social stimulation and the temptation to work in an unsound position, like in bed, can all sabotage an otherwise virtuous worker’s best health intention. You might not realize it at first but staying in the house all day makes it pretty hard to maintain a healthy fitness routine unless you’re making a serious effort to move away from a sedentary lifestyle.

The best way to keep fit and sane while working from home requires a lot of self-discipline and intentional shifts in your routine. Just like you should be taking walk breaks, schedule about ten minutes of exercise throughout the day. The easiest adjustment you can make to your healthy routine when you are working from home is to wake up by doing a 10 minute workout first thing.

You can also leave yourself motivational sticky notes by your bed, so they are the first thing you see and read in the morning. We recommend exercising in the morning when you have fewer objections and a longer payoff throughout the day. During a 10 minute morning workout, our body reacts better to muscle growth and repair.   1. 10 minute Stretching – morning stretches relieve aches, improve posture, and increase blood flow. You can simply do a few basic stretches in your balcony or even in your room. Once you feel a little active, you can head out for a workout session
  2. 10 minute Short Bodyweight Workout – doing a few jumping jacks or skipping rope for a few minutes will increase your heart rate and get your blood pumping
